Where the beds are is where the coal boiler sat for 60 years. It supplied heat and hot water throughout the school. The kitchen area is where the coal was stocked to feed the boiler. You can see above the sink on the right side, a square opening that was the chute where the coal truck would supply the room with coal by conveyor belt.
